The Sturgeon Moon will be full on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 3:55 a.m. EDT. It gets its name from the sturgeon fish, which are abundant in the Great Lakes during this time of year. The full moon will be visible the evenings of August 8th and 9th, appearing full for several nights surrounding its peak.
